Financial sector workers 'essential'
Accounting and finance staff are vital to the business operations of firms, it has been claimed.
Lucy Davison, associate director at banking recruitment group FSS, said the government is predicting that when the upturn arrives it will do so quickly, so companies should ensure they have the right skills in place at the right time.
"We are still finding that accountants and finance staff are deemed business-critical staff due to the current importance of rigorous financial control and cashflow management," she added.
Ms Davidson went on to say the company is also seeing an increase in demand for accountants with strong management accounts experience, as senior executives make their business decisions based on the information they provide.
Research carried out by FSS indicates that within financial services, regulatory reform is likely to drive demand for risk, compliance and audit specialists.
The study also suggested the not-for-profit sector is likely to see an ongoing demand for specialist finance skills.
As a recruitment provider to many of the UKs major banks, mortgage lenders and building societies Aaron Wallis have a deserved reputation within Financial Services recruitment.
