Salary discrepancies 'will be resolved over time'
The gap in pay between male and female workers, including those in insurance sales jobs, will be resolved over time, it has been suggested.
According to Tanya Hine, president of the British Association of Women Entrepreneurs, the discrepancy cannot be eliminated immediately.
She said: "There has been a great shift but there's still quite a bit to go ... It's not something that can be legislated or dealt with ... but slowly of course it will happen."
The expert added that, while there are a lot of females occupying the country's top jobs, it will take many years before the glass ceiling is broken.
However, figures produced by recently by Perriam & Everett revealed that 98 per cent of organisations surveyed said the top performers in their organisations were fairly evenly split between men and women.
It was also found that more than six in ten respondents said that women were better at negotiating their salaries than their male counterparts.
