Could finance firms mimic the recruitment success of First ScotRail?
Financial services firms may be able to take a leaf out of one rail company's book in terms of recruiting and retaining employees.
The human resources director at First ScotRail, Fiona Irvine, has given Rail News details of a number of initiatives the company has recently introduced in order to raise staff morale and keep attracting the best candidates.
"Our staff engagement programme has been very successful and has focused on creating a great place to work for all of our people," she advised.
Endeavours that financial services firms may wish to take inspiration from include a campaign to attract more female candidates.
First ScotRail reports that the number of female applicants for its train driver jobs has risen by ten per cent since the scheme was launched.
A new development framework for managers has also been introduced by the organisation.
Staff morale could be raised with the help of benefits schemes for employees, a recent report in the Times suggested.
As a recruitment provider to many of the UKs major banks, mortgage lenders and building societies Aaron Wallis have a deserved reputation within Financial Services recruitment.
