Firms increasingly opting for PMI

Sales jobs employees could be set for a boost in private medical insurance sales to businesses.

According to the Association of British Insurers (ABI), for the first time in five years the total number of individuals covered by either corporate or personal private medical insurance (PMI) broke the six million mark.

Spokesperson for the ABI, Jonathan French, claims that companies see PMI as a good way of recruiting and retaining staff.

He said: "Increasingly employers are seeing the benefits of buying medical insurance packages for their staff because it's obviously good for the individual if they can recover and get back to work more quickly.

"In an increasingly competitive labour market, employers are using add-ons, like offering private medical insurance to ensure that they can recruit and retain the best quality staff."

In a further sign that sales jobs employees could be onto a good thing, BUPA have also announced PMI sales boosts of 20 per cent in quarter one of the this year compared to 2007.
